It's hard to imagine that the concept of 3D wedding photography dates back to the 1850s and is nearly as old as photography itself.© Copyright 2012 Golden Gate 3D LLC
With the introduction of the world's first cameras in 1839, photographers used a polished silver sheet to capture a single image. In the 1840s, viewing photographs in 3D was made possible with "stereo cards" that were viewed with a stereoscope, creating an immersive 3D effect.
With the advent of modern 3D motion pictures just a few years ago, we have entered a new epoch of personal storytelling, whereby we can see and capture high fidelity three-dimensional imagery that truly puts you in the picture, at resolutions so high that the images can be projected in movie theatres with no visible pixels.
Golden Gate 3D is proud to have recently shot the world's first 5K 3D wedding, using our state-of-the-art Red Epic 3D rig to capture stunning imagery that can be used not only as a video record of your special day, but also to create 3D stills from the same camera.
Now your memories can be viewed in both 2D and 3D, with the same stunning quality of major feature films. Ever mindful of technology's advances, we also preserve a 5K 3D master print, so that as technology moves forward, your most cherished memories will one day be viewable at resolutions that far surpass the capabilities of today's most cutting edge devices.
